Use of perineal warm compresses during the second stage of labor for reducing obstetric anal sphincter injuries and perineal pain in the postpartum period: Randomized controlled trial

Study Purpose:

The primary objective of this randomized controlled trial is to assess the use of perineal warm compresses at DHR-WH during the late second stage of labor, during active maternal pushing, to determine if it is more efficacious than standard care in reducing third- and fourth-degree perineal lacerations.
