The DHR Health Institute for Leadership Development administers the Healthcare Internship Program and partners with universities and colleges nationwide. Our Healthcare Internship program is a 12 week program which includes three separate tiers. This program is designed to provide emerging professionals (clinical and non-clinical) with practical skills, an operational relationship network, and real-world experience to help prepare them to assume future positions within the DHR Health System.
The Institute partners with DHR Health’s internal departments for intern placement based on student interest, department need, and availability. The intern provides service to the enterprise, within the scope of responsibilities, alongside a functional supervisor, mentor or guide so that they may develop a healthy understanding of the role they have accepted, and responsibilities associated with the role, and gain insight on a potential professional partnership with DHR Health.
Those hired into the Healthcare Internship program are required to complete a strategically aligned major project during the course of their work. This allows the interns to further their educational experience in their field(s) of study while contributing to DHR Health’s mission.
Those hired also participate in enrichment activities, operational tours, workshops, lectures, and career advisement arranged by the Institute for Leadership Development. Interns can expect to utilize their education and leverage the resources of a large, integrated healthcare organization during their internship, helping to set them up for future success.
