At the DHR Health Institute for Leadership Development our MISSION is to cultivate a culture of servant leadership by enhancing Engagement, Accountability, Communication and Transparency.
Leadership is the ability to motivate people to mobilize toward the achievement of common goals. In order to do this, one must know how to influence and collaborate with others to meet set goals by the enterprise. Challenges may arise at any time. To be a productive leader, one must be able to respond to any challenge with understanding, knowledge, and experience. To be a successful leader, one must be able to adjust as needed, skillfully lead through unexpected change, drive performance and cultivate a Servant Leadership (people first) culture, always.
In any enterprise, leaders take on the responsibility of providing direction toward the accomplishment of goals and objectives. Leaders influence the attitudes and behaviors of their staff and others. Great leaders are secure in their roles and in their ability to do their jobs. They communicate well with their teams and mentor their employees. They ensure they know what their teams need to do their jobs and meet their respective goals. They challenge their staff and hold them accountable, but they also take responsibility if the team fails at something.
Great leaders are a mere handful of development and training sessions away.
In support of leadership development, the DHR Health Institute for Leadership Development, in partnership with the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business, is proud to offer an Executive Education program to current employees in a leadership role. This program features the DHR EnACT basics as a foundation for the modules. These basic foundations are Engagement, Accountability, Communication, and Transparency.
The Executive Education modules are taught by the faculty members of C.T. Bauer College of Business. Each learning session is held in person and requires all DHR Health leaders to attend, engage, learn and discuss what they learned with the rest of the DHR Health staff.
Members of hospital leadership complete a four-class cohort, which features classroom-style learning, interaction, and question-and-answer opportunities, and includes topics such as:
Each DHR Health leader is required to complete more than 20 hours of leadership development and training through this Executive Education program. Classes will be supplemented by additional leadership training via TalentTracks, part of the DHR Health online education platform HealthStream. These classes offer additional hours of development and training for all employees across the enterprise.
